After two years of online meetings, trade fairs can finally take place again. This also applies to "Cultivate" in Columbus, Ohio, which is organized annually by "American Hort", the leading association for the horticultural industry in the USA.

More than 650 exhibitors came together in mid-July at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for one of the largest trade fairs in the green industry. Around 10,000 visitors from all over the world took the opportunity for personal exchange and found out about trends and the latest developments.

Proven Winners

A real highlight was the booth of Proven Winners, you could not only find magnificent plants here, but also modern, themed setups. How do I stage indoor plants and create a cozy atmosphere at home and, above all, which plants need less or more light in the room? You could find answers to these questions here. Whether the "Work Life Collection" with space-saving plants for desks and shelves, which are also particularly easy to care for, or the "Cocoon Collection" with plants that require little light and are therefore suitable for indoor rooms with less light or smaller windows.

A few steps further, at the Bailey's Nurseries booth, the impressive presentation of the "First Editions" series awaited you, which not only catches the eye with the extraordinary varieties with magnificent growth, but also with the innovative marketing. The brightly designed labels with catchy slogans attract attention and thus play an important role in sales. Bailey’s Nurseries welcomed a “new member” of the Endless Summer family – POP Star. Having a lot of success with the latest variety SUMMER LOVE, this new variety will be launched in 2023.

In addition to exciting new breedings, the topic of sustainability also dominated; the growing consumer awareness of living green and the environment in general is a real opportunity for the green industry to broaden its audience. The trend towards gardening is unbroken, vegetables and herbs in particular are increasingly being grown in one's own garden, but ornamental plants for indoor and outdoor use are also in demand.
